Sumadhura Group Enters Chennai With 400 Crore Logistics Park

Sumadhura Group enters Chennai with a ₹400 crore Grade-A industrial and logistics park in Red Hills, spread across 52 acres with 1.2 million sq ft of warehousing space and 2,500 expected jobs.

The Sumadhura Group has entered the real estate industry in Chennai by announcing the development of a Grade-A logistics and industrial park worth Rs.400 crores at the Red Hills area in North Chennai. The project is an extension of the Bangalore-based company’s footprint in one of the key logistics and industrial regions of South India.

The proposed park will cover an area of 52 acres on the Chennai Peripheral Ring Road (CPRR) and will offer about 1.2 million square feet of warehouse facilities. The project is set to be completed by December 2028 and is expected to create about 2,500 jobs.

It is intended to be a “built-to-suit” project that would suit a wide array of users. They would include firms that are in manufacturing, automotive, e-commerce, 3PL, and others. The project would leverage the strong industrial environment that exists in Chennai and its connections with key transport facilities.

According to the developers, Sumadhura Group, the park is going to be developed based on the Grade-A warehouse specifications that have been set up for the company’s Sumadhura Logistics Park at Hoskote, Bengaluru. The logistics centre in Chennai will comprise strong safety and security systems, common business centres, and other supporting amenities.

The Red Hills site is strategically located in an existing industrial and warehousing cluster. Its connectivity via the Chennai Peripheral Ring Road is envisaged to help facilitate transportation of products over the metropolitan area and link up firms with key manufacturing and logistics centers. Sumadhura regards the site as being fit for meeting the needs of the manufacturing and logistics sector in India.

The project in Chennai follows from Sumadhura Group’s previous experience in the industrial and logistics property development. In Bengaluru, for instance, the company runs Sumadhura Logistics Park in Hoskote, which is a 2.5 million sq ft Grade A+ build-to-suit warehouse located on 90 acres of land. It has managed to attract such tenants as Nippon Express, Amazon, Zepto, and Zomato.

The expansion of this firm in Chennai occurs at a time when there is growing demand for organized warehouses and industrial spaces. The manufacturing hub in Chennai along with the connectivity of its ports and logistics services are providing opportunities for Grade-A industrial spaces. There were 4.1 million sq. ft. of Grade-A warehousing space that got absorbed in the first half of 2026.

With an investment of ₹400 crore, a land area of 52 acres, and 1.2 million square feet of warehouse space being planned for, this initiative reflects a significant addition to the industrial real estate portfolio of Sumadhura Group. This project is also likely to benefit the modern logistics sector of Chennai in North Chennai region.
