
IHCL, India’s largest hospitality company, has announced the signing of a new Ginger hotel in Shillong, marking the brand’s first entry into Meghalaya.
The agreement is for a greenfield development, signaling IHCL’s continued expansion into emerging regional markets.
The upcoming 90-key Ginger Shillong will feature the brand’s signature all-day diner Qmin, a contemporary bar, a meeting room, and a fitness centre, designed to cater to both business and leisure travellers.

With its modern amenities, the property aims to provide a seamless stay experience for corporate guests while accommodating tourists exploring the scenic northeast.
Commenting on the signing, Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, said, “Shillong’s vibrant energy aligns seamlessly with Ginger’s work-play philosophy. As the city transforms under the Smart City initiative into a prominent administrative and economic centre, its scenic hill views and strategic location make it an ideal market for Ginger. With this new signing, IHCL’s portfolio in Meghalaya grows to three hotels, including one currently under development.
