The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, has announced the signing of an agreement to launch 10 new Ginger hotels across southern India.
This expansion will be executed under a capital-light operating lease model, reinforcing IHCL’s asset-light growth strategy. The upcoming hotels will be a mix of greenfield and brownfield projects, targeting key industrial and spiritual destinations across southern states. The first property under this partnership is a 75-key Ginger Hotel in Genome Valley, Telangana, the state’s premier R&D hub.

Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President, Real Estate & Development, IHCL said, “Ginger represents IHCL’s strategic response to capitalize on the growing opportunity in the midscale segment in India for the aspirational traveller. The brand with its relevancy straddles all city categories and destinations from metros, state capitals, commercial centres, industrial townships, pilgrimage sites and leisure hot spots. Marking the first branded hotel in the region, it will feature Ginger’s signature all-day dining restaurant Qmin, offering diverse culinary experiences. Guests can also access a well-equipped fitness center and meeting spaces, catering to both short and extended business stays.
The partnership, announced with JV Ventures, involves an investment of approximately INR 500 crores over the next three years, covering the rollout of ten hotels with 1,000+ keys. Jasmeet Chhabra, Co-Founder of JV Ventures, emphasized that the collaboration will strengthen the hospitality ecosystem in emerging industrial corridors and spiritual towns across southern India.
