The company will achieve net cash proceeds of approximately $1.4 billion after it pays off its debts and transaction costs while maintaining about $1.7 billion in shareholder equity.

Apollo will maintain real estate sector investment through its ownership of property assets worth hundreds of millions which it owns after selling its loan portfolio. The company maintains its real estate holdings through this method while it implements a new business direction and investigates different ways to expand through possible mergers and other asset management methods.

Athene needs to purchase the asset since it matches their plan to acquire extended-term income-producing investments. Insurers find commercial real estate debt to be highly appealing because it delivers consistent returns and the debt instruments have backing from physical assets.
