The Konkan Board of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has launched a major housing lottery for 5,285 affordable flats and 77 residential plots, with applications opening on July 14, 2025, at 1 p.m.
This initiative covers key locations near Mumbai, including Vasai, Thane, Kulgaon, and Badlapur, while the plots are located in Sindhudurg district. The lottery is part of MHADA’s broader strategy to make housing more accessible in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).
Key Highlights
Flats and plots are being offered under various housing schemes:77 plots under the Konkan Board Housing Scheme. 51 flats under the Affordable Housing Category (50 Percent affordability criteria), 1,677 flats under the Konkan Board Housing Scheme. 3,002 flats under the 15 percent Integrated Urban Housing Scheme. 565 flats under the 20 percent Inclusive Housing Scheme.
Applicants must submit their applications online by August 13, and the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) must be paid by August 14. The draft list of eligible applicants will be released on August 21, followed by an objection window until August 25. The final list will be published on September 1, and the lottery draw is scheduled for September 3.

MHADA confirmed that its system is entirely online, transparent, and free of human intervention. CEO Sanjeev Jaiswal also revealed that another draw for 5,000 homes is expected around September–October 2025, further expanding affordable housing access.
