Xiaomi launches the Mijia Smart Range Hood 3 in China with AI-powered airflow adjustment, gesture controls and HyperOS integration. The hood delivers 25 cubic metres of airflow per minute and is priced at 1,499 yuan.
The Mijia Smart Range Hood 3 is a new smart-home device launched in China by Xiaomi. The European-inspired kitchen hood is designed to offer intelligent control of ventilation along with high efficiency, automatic airflow adjustment and integration with Xiaomi's HyperOS Connect ecosystem.
The new model is powered by a next-generation DC motor that can attain a maximum speed of 2,200 rotations per minute. It has a fan system that provides a maximum airflow of 25 cubic metres per minute, which is a 9% enhancement over the previous-generation model. The appliance has been developed to enhance the efficiency of ventilation without changing the appliance's performance during cooking.

One of the major benefits is the AI-powered air resistance detection function in common air ducts, especially in high-rise structures, thanks to Xiaomi's Cruise Boost algorithm. The system automatically adjusts airflow and pressure to ensure effective extraction based on the detected resistance. With a maximum static pressure of 1080 Pa, the hood can work effectively under high resistance to airflow.
The Mijia Smart Range Hood 3 also adds touchless gesture controls. A Wave Hand Control feature lets the user toggle the hood on or off and control the suction power, minimising the risk of using damp, greasy hands to turn on or off the hood or to adjust the suction when cooking.
It is connected with Xiaomi's HyperOS Connect platform and the Mijia app, which all allow the user to manage the hood remotely with a smartphone. It can also be integrated with other Xiaomi smart home products to establish smart home scenes.

Smart Dry Cleaning is another addition, which is an automatic cleaning mode that's aimed at minimising grease build-up in the fan. In the course of the process, the fan rotates at a high speed to blow away some of the collected grease, keeping the airflow performance good and ensuring that the grease does not accumulate over time.
The Mijia Smart Range Hood 3 is on sale in China for 1,499 yuan (about $220). The appliance also features AI-based airflow control and gesture control, along with integration with smart homes, making it a smart choice over traditional kitchen ventilation systems.
