Xiaomi Air Purifiers Tipped to Launch Under Mijia in August

Xiaomi is expected to launch new smart air purifiers in India under its Mijia sub-brand by late August 2026. The Mijia Air Purifier 6 could feature PM1 detection, UVC sterilisation and coverage of up to 50 square metres.

Later this month, Xiaomi is set to launch new smart purifiers in India in its brand-new sub-brand called Mijia, making the Indian debut for the brand. Presumably, the products will be available by late August, 2026.

The Mijia Air Purifier 6, which is currently on sale in some markets around the world, may be part of the new lineup. In India, the device would offer some enhancements to Xiaomi's Air Purifier 4 series, which was launched in India in 2023.

The Mijia Air Purifier 6 is able to deliver clean air at 443 cubic metres per hour for dust and smoke and 218 cubic metres per hour for formaldehyde. It will fit up to 50 square metres, ideal for larger bedrooms and living areas.

One of the major improvements is the 5-sensor system. The purifier has an added PM1 sensor, which is capable of detecting smaller particles that are floating in the air, along with monitoring PM2.5 levels, pollen, temperature and humidity.

The inclusion of UVC sterilisation and lower noise levels would complement its emphasis on indoor air quality and health for the home. The features also could prove relevant in Indian cities where air pollution is still a big concern.

Earlier in the month, Xiaomi launched Mijia by Xiaomi, as a unique home and lifestyle label in India. The product range is expected to include smart home gadgets and big appliances that form part of the company's broader Human × Car × Home ecosystem.

This possible launch may help Xiaomi strengthen its position in the smart-home appliance market in India. The company already has a presence in categories like TVs, robotic vacuum cleaners and air purifiers. However, the naming may help the company to scale up its smart home portfolio even further.

As for the price of the Mijia Air Purifier 6, it is estimated to be around ₹15,000-₹20,000, but the final price for the Indian market is not confirmed yet. Thus, this launch will allow Xiaomi to make a mark in India's premium segment of air purifiers and at the same time make a contribution to the development of the Mijia brand in the smart-home sector.
