Trident Hotels Expands with Rs 400 Crore in Amritsar

The Oberoi Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Springedge Solutions Pvt Ltd to build a Rs 400-crore luxury hotel in Amritsar, marking a great expansion of its presence. The proposed hotel will be managed under the Trident Hotels brand, which will be the first in Punjab.

The 150-room hotel will be effectively situated on the Amritsar- Tarn Taran Road, some 3 km away the iconic shrine. The project will be spread over three acres and it will provide employment to approximately 350 individuals, which will be helpful in the development of the region.

The construction is planned to begin in July 2026, and it should be completed in March 2029. This is one of the pioneering projects of such magnitude of greenfield hospitality in Punjab.

Trident brand has now nine operational hotels in India and The Oberoi Group has 32 operational hotels in the country, with another 10 hotels in the pipeline. The group already has the The Oberoi Sukhvilas Spa Resort in Punjab.

The MoU was signed in the presence of senior representatives of both sides, including R Shankar, president, corporate and legal affairs, Oberoi Group, and Shahbaz Singh, Avtar Singh and Amandeep Kaur, directors of Springedge Solutions Pvt. Ltd. The signing ceremony was also attended by Gurkirat Kirpal Singh, administrative secretary, Industries & Commerce, Punjab.

The project is in line with the increased rate of investment in Punjab; Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora informed that the state has received Rs 59,444 crore of investments in 2025-26, which confirms its status as an upcoming luxury hospitality and tourism destination.
