Radisson Signs 10 Hotels Across India in One Week

Radisson Hotel Group signs 10 new hotels across seven Indian states in one week, expanding its presence in business, leisure, wildlife, and spiritual destinations as part of its long-term India growth strategy.

The Radisson Hotel Group (RHG) is rapidly expanding its reach in India by concluding deals for 10 new hotels within a week, making it increasingly present in important centers of business travel, tourism, adventure and spiritual travels. The new deals include seven different states and comprise one of the largest expansion phases of the company in India.

The recent acquisitions include six brands from the portfolio which comprises Radisson Blu, Radisson, Park Inn by Radisson, Radisson Individuals Premier, Park Inn & Suites by Radisson, and Radisson Individuals Retreats. The variety in the portfolio is an indication that the company is pursuing a market segment approach to diversify its operations in India’s rapidly growing hospitality markets.

The expansion strategy aims at expanding into the high-potential areas where there will be business travelers as well as pilgrims and nature enthusiasts. The organization will expand not only into the established urban areas like Bengaluru but also into the emerging areas of tourism and religion like Tirupati, Mathura Vrindavan and other upcoming areas. This will help Radisson cater to both corporate travels and domestic tourists.

Experts in the industry also mention that the Indian hospitality industry is still receiving benefits from the increased domestic tourism, improved infrastructure and the increasing demand for luxurious hotels. Religious tourism is becoming a significant factor of development in this case, thus forcing hotel companies to develop their hotels in pilgrimage centers that have a continuous flow of tourists. In addition, business centers provide a good basis for high occupancy and branded hotels development.

According to Radisson Hotel Group, the recent deals strengthen their commitment towards the Indian market in the long run and help them fulfill their objective of developing a diversified network of hotels in metros and emerging markets. Radisson continues with the same development strategy through a combination of both asset-heavy and asset-light development models.
