L&T's New Landmark Builds Across India's Urban Skyline

L&T landmark projects including Omkareshwar museum Guwahati stadium and Mumbai luxury towers

In Omkareshwar, Guwahati, and Mumbai, Larsen & Toubro’s Buildings & Factories (B&F) vertical is shaping a new generation of landmark developments that blend architecture, culture, and modern infrastructure.

The engineering major has recently secured multiple EPC orders across India, spanning cultural institutions, sports infrastructure, and luxury residential real estate.

At Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh’s Khandwa district, L&T has won an order from the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation to construct Advait Lok—the Acharya Shankar Museum Complex along with integrated parking facilities.

Key Highlights

  • Omkareshwar museum to feature intricate stone carvings and sculptural facades
  • Guwahati’s Sarusajai complex to get a FIFA-compliant 25,000-seat stadium
  • Mumbai luxury towers to rise up to 230 metres with premium finishes

Envisioned as a state-of-the-art global museum, the project will celebrate the life and philosophy of Adi Shankaracharya through curated, immersive exhibits.

Architecturally, the museum is designed to stand out for its large-scale intricate stone carvings and the use of glass fibre reinforced concrete (GFRC) elements, giving the structure a sculptural and timeless presence. The scope of work includes civil construction, architectural finishes, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services, and comprehensive external development. L&T will also undertake operations and maintenance for five years, with the project scheduled for completion within 36 months.

In Guwahati, Assam, the B&F business has secured an EPC order from the state government for the redevelopment of the R G Baruah Sports Complex at Sarusajai. The centrepiece of the project is a FIFA-compliant football stadium with a seating capacity of 25,000, positioning the city as a key destination for national and international sporting events. Alongside the stadium, the redevelopment includes a range of allied sports and support facilities, with a delivery timeline of 27 months.

Further west, in Mumbai, L&T has been awarded an order by a private developer for the construction of luxury high-rise residential towers. Spread across three towers, the project includes two basements, a ground floor, and 45 to 66 upper floors. Rising to heights of up to 230 metres, the towers will feature reinforced concrete shell-and-core structures, premium interior finishes, and fully integrated MEP systems, reflecting Mumbai’s continued appetite for vertical luxury living.
