IHG Hotels & Resorts has teamed up with DC Constructions, part of Urban Oasis Hospitality, to build a new 100-room Holiday Inn Express near Bagdogra International Airport in Siliguri. The hotel is set to open in 2028 and will help meet the growing demand from business and transit travelers in this key northeastern city.
Siliguri is a busy commercial center in West Bengal and serves as the main gateway to the Eastern Himalayas, Northeast India, and nearby countries like Nepal, Bangladesh, and Bhutan. The new hotel’s location near the airport makes it ideal for visitors passing through or staying for work.
Holiday Inn Express is IHG’s biggest and fastest-growing brand, with more than 3,200 hotels worldwide. Known for simple, smart stays, the brand focuses on comfort and convenience. This new property will feature the latest Generation 5 design, with modern rooms and flexible workspaces for both business and leisure guests.
Key Highlights:
Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, stated: “This signing underscores our strategic push into key gateway cities. Holiday Inn Express remains a preferred option for travelers seeking reliable comfort and for owners pursuing strong returns.”
Avinash Tiwari, Managing Director, DC Constructions, added: “Partnering with IHG elevates Siliguri’s hospitality offerings to global standards. The project will stimulate the local economy by drawing diverse visitors to this burgeoning hub.”
This will be the 18th Holiday Inn Express in India, with 21 more in development. IHG currently runs 51 hotels across six brands in the country and plans to open 72 more in the next few years.
