Zon Hotels Mumbai signs MOU with IHG Hotels & Resorts

Zon Hotels Mumbai Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between SanRaj Group and DGS Group, has begun discussions with IHG Hotels & Resorts for a new luxury hotel in Mumbai’s western suburbs.

The parties have signed a non-binding MOU for a planned 350-room hotel project, expected to operate under a luxury brand such as InterContinental.

This partnership represents a key step in the expansion of global hospitality brands in Mumbai’s Western Region business corridors and reinforces SanRaj Group’s strategic focus on onboarding international hospitality operators.

The MOU was signed on January 21 at 4:00 pm at Holiday Inn Mumbai. It was executed by Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, and Rajdip Gupta, Director of Zon Hotels (Mumbai) Pvt Ltd.

The company is promoted by directors Sandip Gupta, Rajdip Gupta, Ishwar Shukla, and Rohit Shukla.

The agreement signals Zon Hotels Mumbai’s intent to develop a landmark greenfield luxury hotel in India. Construction is expected to begin after signing a definitive Hotel Management Agreement (HMA), subject to due diligence, planning, and regulatory approvals within both organizations.

The hotel will serve corporate travelers, MICE demand, and leisure guests, strengthening Mumbai’s hospitality infrastructure in the western suburbs.

Commenting on the development, Sandip Gupta and Rajdip Gupta said, “Western Region of Mumbai is fast emerging as an important commercial and business hub in Mumbai, supported by improved infrastructure and growing corporate activity. This project aligns with our vision of developing high-quality hospitality assets that would cater to the evolving needs of both business and leisure travellers. Collaborating with IHG would further strengthen our commitment to delivering globally benchmarked hospitality developments.”

Ishwar Shukla and Saurabh Parsrampuria added, “We are excited about this potential collaboration with IHG. Our focus is on delivering a premium guest experience supported by global operational systems, strong brand equity and professional hotel management.”
