Brigade Group to develop mixed use hub in Chennai

Bengaluru-based real estate developer Brigade Group has signed a long-term lease agreement for a 7-acre prime land parcel on Chennai’s Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) to develop a large-scale mixed-use destination.

The project will feature over 1 million sq ft of Grade A office space and a 225-key 5-star deluxe hotel, according to the company’s regulatory filing.

Located in the Tharamani OMR belt, the site sits at the heart of Chennai’s IT and innovation corridor, home to global technology firms, leading academic institutions, hospitals, retail centres, and major residential developments.

The announcement follows Brigade Group's recent foray into Chennai. In June, it launched Brigade Morgan Heights, a Rs. 2,100 crore residential development across 14.7 acres in Sholinganallur–Medavakkam corridor in South Chennai. It had picked up a 5.41-acre Velachery Road land parcel a month prior to that for Rs.441 crore to build a Rs.1,600 crore housing complex.

With these strategic initiatives, Brigade Group is consolidating its position in Chennai to emerge as a prominent player in the city's fast-changing real estate landscape.
