As per Authority officials, the plots are located at Sectors 17, 18 and 20, situated in proximity to the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar region along the Yamuna Expressway, near the newly planned development. The affordable housing plot scheme comes after approval made at the Authority’s board meeting on June 18, 2022.
Officials have indicated that the scheme aims at factory workers employed in the Yamuna Expressway region, and also for those with an annual income upto Rs 3 lakh. A successful applicant can pay by installment up to a period of seven years.
"As many as 29 percent of the EWS plots will be reserved for factory workers, engaged in projects located in YEIDA regions, another 5 percent plots will be reserved for retired defence service personnel, and another 5 percent each for YEIDA employees," said Arun Vir Singh, CEO, YEIDA.
“These workers will be employed in units across the Noida airport's catchment area along the Yamuna Expressway. Keeping the needs of economically weaker sections in mind, we'll be offering plots of 30 square meters, providing a vital housing solution for economic weaker sections of the society," Singh added.
According to Singh, the Authority decided to implement the scheme due to overwhelming demand in that burgeoning area.
