Lemon Tree Hotels has just signed a deal to manage a new upscale resort in Mahabaleshwar, Maharashtra. Called Lemon Tree Resort, Saj by the Mountain, this property will add to the company's growing list of leisure spots in the state.
The resort will have 78 rooms and offer a mix of comfort and fun. Guests can enjoy an all-day restaurant with various cuisines, a cozy bar, a banquet hall for events, a swimming pool, and a spa for relaxation.
It's designed for families, couples on honeymoon, and anyone looking for a peaceful getaway, all wrapped in Lemon Tree's friendly and affordable style, surrounded by beautiful views of strawberry fields and foggy valleys.
Key Highlights:
Mahabaleshwar is a popular hill station known for its cool weather, old-world charm, and spots like Arthur's Seat, Kate's Point, Venna Lake for boating, and the ancient Pratapgadh Fort. The resort's location makes it easy to reach: about 147 km from Pune Airport and 160 km from Pune Railway Station, with good roads connecting it all.
Managed by Carnation Hotels Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lemon Tree, the resort underscores the group's commitment to tiered urban and leisure destinations. "This signing expands our leisure portfolio in Maharashtra, where we already operate 15 properties and have 11 more in the pipeline," said Vilas Pawar, CEO - Managed & Franchise Business at Lemon Tree Hotels. "It perfectly aligns with our vision of providing refreshing, comfortable stays across all cities and destinations."

With tourism picking up in India after the pandemic, especially domestic trips, this move makes sense for Lemon Tree. Maharashtra is a hot market thanks to better roads and more people traveling for fun. Experts say the resort will help the company earn more by attracting nature lovers who want eco-friendly vacations.
Lemon Tree is known for brands like Aurika for luxury and Red Fox for budget stays. They use smart partnerships to expand without owning everything outright. Aiming for 200 hotels by 2028, this new spot in Mahabaleshwar shows how they're blending value with appealing experiences.
