India is a leading player in the international market for branded luxury homes today, with the industry expected to realize an astonishing 200 percent growth by 2031, according to Savills India. This growth places the nation among the world's prime luxury real estate destinations, a major milestone for upscale housing.

The expansion is spurred mostly by demand for resort-lifestyle living and mounting interest from investment-oriented buyers interested in rental schemes. "India's rising as one of the world's top ten branded residence markets is a milestone moment for the country's luxury property market," stated Arvind Nandan, MD - research and consulting, Savills India.

Global high-end hospitality brands such as Marriott's Ritz-Carlton and St. Regis are aggressively making a footprint in India to ride this boom. Builders understand that today's sophisticated buyers look for more than a house. Amar Sarin, CEO and MD, TARC Ltd, said, "For sophisticated buyers today, it's about service, identity, community and long-term brand trust."

This traction is likely to be driven by the increasing need for globally benchmarked, lifestyle-oriented spaces. Sudeep Bhatt, director, strategy, Whiteland Corporation, pointed out that the tie-up with Marriott International for the launch of Westin Residences Gurugram, one of the world's largest such launches, is a crucial milestone, stating, "This projection highlights the vast potential for India to become a global gateway for branded residences."

Though growth is also evident in the Middle East and Africa, diversification and extensive activity throughout the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, which includes twice the number of active markets as the MEA, indicate APAC will keep pushing North America for market supremacy for the next decade.
