The Taj Bangalore, designed by Morphogenesis, reimagines transit hospitality at Kempegowda International Airport through a contemporary expansion developed with Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL).
The project adds 220 new rooms and suites, blending privacy, luxury, and panoramic runway views while maintaining architectural harmony with the existing hotel.
Shaped in a C-shaped layout, the design maximizes natural light and views, drawing inspiration from South India’s courtyard typology to create a spatial experience that is both contextual and modern.
Key Highlights
The two phases of the hotel are seamlessly linked by a ground-level corridor and a third-level bridge, ensuring operational fluidity and offering sweeping airport vistas.
At the core lies a five-level skylit atrium, anchored by a banyan tree-inspired sculpture — a nod to Bengaluru’s “Garden City” legacy. Surrounding landscaped courts and open dining zones foster calm and connectivity. A semi-open fifth-floor restaurant, inspired by traditional pavilions, extends the indoor-outdoor dialogue with striking runway views.
The material palette features Serpeggiante marble, wood, and Sadarhalli granite, complemented by accents of green and blue symbolizing the city’s lakes and hills. Custom furnishings and artworks by regional artisans celebrate local craftsmanship.
