Summit Signature Retreat Pangthang Opens in Gangtok, Sikkim

Summit Hotels & Resorts has launched its new retreat, Summit Signature Retreat Pangthang, in Gangtok, marking the company’s entry into the retreat hotel segment in Sikkim.

The 38-room property is located atop a hill in Pangthang, offering stunning, unobstructed views of the Eastern Himalayas, including Mount Kanchenjunga.

Designed for travellers seeking peace and seclusion, the retreat is nestled within pine plantations and natural mountain landscapes, providing a calm escape just outside the hustle and bustle of Gangtok.

The property features a range of accommodations, including superior rooms, deluxe rooms, premium suites, attic suites, and luxury suites, all with private balconies to enjoy the panoramic Himalayan views. Some suites also include separate living and dining areas, making them ideal for longer stays.

In line with its focus on sustainability and local climate needs, the rooms do not include air conditioning or minibars. Wellness is a central offering at the retreat, with a dedicated spa, yoga, and meditation spaces designed to enhance relaxation and rejuvenation.

For dining, the retreat offers a multi-cuisine restaurant serving Sikkimese, Indian, and international flavours. A sun deck with breathtaking views of Kanchenjunga adds a unique nature-centric touch to the experience. Additionally, a 5,000 sq ft banquet hall can host over 500 guests, making the retreat perfect for destination events and intimate gatherings.
