Summit Hotels & Resorts has formally announced its entry into the luxury hotel market with the launch of its flagship brand, The Summit, in Siliguri.

Slated to open in May 2027, the property will serve as both an architectural landmark and the group’s corporate headquarters, designed by Vivek Singh Rathore of Salient, a Forbes India “Bold Club” honoree.

The Summit marks a significant move beyond the brand’s mountain-based portfolio into high-end urban hospitality.

Key Highlights

  • Summit Hotels to launch flagship luxury brand ‘The Summit’ in Siliguri by 2027
  • Features Eastern India’s largest banquet space for weddings and MICE events
  • Combines luxury, lifestyle, and sustainability with local cultural integration

Positioned to redefine tier-2 city luxury, the property will cater to both the wedding and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) markets. With Eastern India’s largest banquet facilities—hosting up to 2,000 guests across 10 simultaneous events—it will tap into the lucrative Rs. 1 crore-plus wedding market drawing families from Bihar and Bengal. Its state-of-the-art conference technology will also address Siliguri’s growing corporate demand.

The hotel’s lifestyle offering is designed to set it apart. Guests can indulge in a wide culinary program featuring Himalayan specialties, global cuisine, rooftop dining, and poolside grills. Recreational facilities will include squash and pickleball courts, indoor gaming, a multi-sport ground, and a wellness sanctuary combining traditional therapies with modern beauty treatments. Adding to Siliguri’s nightlife, the resort will feature the city’s first 40-foot-high nightclub with panoramic views, live entertainment, and international DJs.

“This resort is our love letter to Siliguri and the entire region,” said Sumit Mitruka, CEO & Founder, Summit Hotels & Resorts. “For 15 years, we’ve welcomed guests to our mountain properties. Now, we’re bringing that same warmth and world-class hospitality to the city that’s been our home. The Summit is our bold step into the luxury market, a destination that will set new benchmarks for Eastern India and put Siliguri firmly on the national hospitality map.”
