Sindhudurg, Maharashtra, is set to enter a new phase of tourism as Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) makes progress on its first five-star hotel there.
This luxury hotel, which will have complete services, is in the beautiful Shiroda–Velaghar area. It should really help improve the hospitality options in the Konkan area and bring jobs to the local people.
Key Highlights
To accelerate execution, a meeting was held at Meghdoot in Mumbai. Maharashtra Tourism Minister Shambhuraj Desai led the meeting. Senior state people, IHCL staff, and local people went over the project schedule, solved some operation problems, and figured out the best way to finish things on time.

The state government has approved a special plan for land payment. About 52.63 hectares of land have been bought for the hotel. Landowners will be paid in two steps to make sure everything is open and fair. IHCL, landowners, and the government are working on extra agreements, which should give the project some push.
The hotel should boost tourism and the economy by creating jobs in hospitality, services, and building. It will bring in visitors from India and other countries. With IHCL’s know-how, Sindhudurg’s tourism could be redefined. The area could become known as a top luxury spot in Maharashtra’s Konkan area.
