Quantra Surfaces, a division of Pokarna, has set a new benchmark in the engineered stone industry with the launch of two groundbreaking quartz surface collections—Aksara and Avyaan—at Design Democracy 2025.
These innovations combine Italian precision and Japanese technology, positioning India at the forefront of global design. The Aksara collection, inspired by the Sanskrit word “The Imperishable,” features Chromia technology from Breton S.p.A. and a Japanese 600 DPI inkjet system that delivers ultra-HD natural stone graphics with photographic clarity. Enhanced with UV-Armour protection, these slabs resist fading, offering unmatched durability and long-term brilliance.
Key Highlights
Avyaan, meaning “The Flawless,” introduces the world’s first extrusion-based quartz surface powered by Kreos technology. This breakthrough allows the production of full-body slabs with exceptional structural integrity and natural depth that surpass traditional surface treatments.
The launch marked a significant moment for the Indian design ecosystem, as Quantra becomes the only company globally to introduce such technologically advanced surfaces. Rahul Jain, Managing Director of Pokarna, emphasized the breakthrough, stating, “This technology, patented and modified to suit consumer preferences, is unique in the world. Pokarna is the only company introducing such advanced surfaces to both domestic and international markets.”
Both collections benefit from Quantra’s integration of Chromia and Kreos technologies with six robotic systems, enabling the creation of natural-looking quartz slabs in thicknesses of 7mm, 12mm, 20mm, and 30mm. These slabs outperform printed ceramic tiles and glossy Brazilian stone tiles, making them ideal for high-traffic residential and commercial use.
