Prism, the parent company of IPO-bound hospitality major Oyo, is stepping up the pace of expansion for its premium hotel chain, Sunday, with a plan to open 40 new premium hotels 4-star and 5-star properties—nationwide during the ongoing financial year (FY26).
The aggressive expansion will be both in metro and non-metro markets with focused attention on high-traffic tourist areas like wildlife sanctuaries and pilgrimage centers. Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan states will be the bedrocks of Sunday's growth, and will have more than 40 percent of the new developments.
"Sunday brings global hospitality expertise together with local operations and state-of-the-art technology, providing a profitable and flexible model for hotel owners and businesspeople throughout India," said Aditya Sharma, Business Head of Sunday Hotels & Resorts.

"Sunday's mission is to introduce upscale hospitality to the destinations that are increasingly in demand for quality stays. If it is a business center or a far-flung spiritual town, Sunday intends to capture the gap in premium hospitality," Sharma said.
The move comes as Prism plans an IPO, which is an indication of faith in India's resilient hospitality and travel industry.
