Noida Authority Demolishes 60 Illegal Buildings

Noida Authority Demolishes 60 Illegal Buildings

The Noida Authority, in a massive enforcement drive, knocked down approximately 60 illegally built structures in Salarpur Khadar village as part of a massive crackdown on unauthorised developments by builders across 24 plots.

The structures, several of which rose six to seven floors above the ground, were said to be on sale as 1BHK to 3BHK apartments, ranging from Rs.30 lakh to Rs.65 lakh.

A team of 50 took down illegal buildings on three plots with earthmovers and tractor-trolleys, while elsewhere demolition was stopped due to court stay orders.

"These buildings were built without permission in spite of clear notices sent in July. The builders disobeyed the orders and went on clandestine construction." a top Noida Authority official said.

Key highlights:

  • Noida Authority demolishes 60 illegal buildings in Salarpur Khadar, targeting unauthorised structures built across 24 plots
  • Apartments worth Rs.30 to Rs.65 lakh were being sold in six- to seven-storey buildings constructed without approval, despite prior notices
  • Daily inspections launched to prevent future violations, with special teams assigned and regular reports mandated to senior officials

The plots that have been hit by the demolition are numbers 728–735 and 745–752, all constructed in defiance of planning parameters. Apart from the demolition, the Authority has also written to the district magistrate regarding illegal use of groundwater at the sites, requesting additional action.

To avoid more violations, the Authority has introduced day-to-day inspections. Special teams comprising managers, engineers, field staff, and police have been designated to patrol the area. Daily reports will be presented to the senior manager of Work Circle 8.
