MHADA Lottery 2026 Results Out for 2,640 Mumbai Homes

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has announced the results of its 2026 Mumbai Housing Lottery, allocating 2,640 affordable homes across various parts of Mumbai. The lottery attracted more than 97,000 applications, reflecting continued demand for affordable housing despite a significant share of the units being under construction.

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has revealed the outcome of its 2026 Mumbai Housing Lottery, which has distributed a total of 2,640 affordable housing units across various locations in the city. Despite the rise in property prices in Mumbai, the annual lottery saw strong participation with over 97,000 applications received, reflecting the continued need for affordable housing.

The lottery includes residential flats in various Mumbai areas such as Vikhroli, Goregaon, Borivali, Chembur, Bandra, Ghatkopar, Wadala, Powai, Dadar and Gorai. Around 1,762 homes, or almost 66% of the total homes available in the inventory, are now under construction, according to MHADA, while the remaining homes are ready for possession. The houses are designed for various income levels, and there are opportunities for a diverse group of homebuyers.

More than 97,000 applications were received by the Mumbai Board, and over 75,000 applicants successfully submitted the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) before the draw. The computerised lottery was held at Rangsharda Auditorium in Mumbai and simultaneously broadcast live on the official digital platforms of MHADA to ensure transparency in the allotment process.

Many of the successful applicants said that the draw was the result of years of hard work. Some winners had been playing the lottery for over 10 years before winning a house. Some of the units picked include apartments in various price brackets that range from the relatively affordable with a price tag of about ₹29 lakh to the higher-end apartments that go up to ₹2 crore to ₹4 crore depending on the size and location.

The applicants are able to see the result on the official MHADA housing website by providing the details of their application. The selected candidates will now go for document verification, payment formalities and allotment as per the documents prescribed by the authority. If the applicant fails to be successful, their Earnest Money Deposit will be returned per MHADA's guidelines.
