IHCL To Tap Uttar Pradesh's Luxury Tourism & Hospitality Boom

Luxury tourism and hospitality developments across Uttar Pradesh cities

Uttar Pradesh, home to iconic destinations such as Agra, Varanasi, Ayodhya and Noida, is rapidly redefining itself as one of India’s most dynamic tourism and hospitality markets.

Backed by improved connectivity, upgraded visitor infrastructure and rising demand for experiential travel, the state is witnessing a transformation that is reshaping its urban and real estate landscape.

From the timeless allure of the Taj Mahal in Agra to the spiritual magnetism of Varanasi’s ghats, Uttar Pradesh continues to attract both domestic and international travellers in growing numbers.

Key Highlights

  • Agra, Varanasi, Ayodhya & Noida drive a new wave of luxury and experiential tourism
  • IHCL to develop 30 hotels and 1,900+ rooms across key cities, with more planned by 2026
  • Cultural landmarks like Ayodhya’s Museum of Temple Architecture to reshape heritage tourism

Pilgrimage centres such as Ayodhya and Prayagraj are also seeing year-round tourism momentum, supported by large-scale infrastructure upgrades and urban renewal initiatives.

Recognising this surge, Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced a significant expansion of its hospitality footprint across the state. The group plans to develop 30 hotels across key cities, adding over 1,900 rooms through a mix of luxury, upscale and mid-range brands. An additional 30 hotels are planned by 2026, further strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s accommodation capacity and hospitality ecosystem.

A standout development under consideration is a signature luxury hotel in Noida, envisioned as a landmark destination for business travel, conferences and large-scale events. Designed to support Noida’s evolution as a major corporate and institutional hub, the project is expected to elevate the city’s positioning in the meetings and conventions segment.

Beyond hospitality, Uttar Pradesh is also investing in cultural preservation and sustainable tourism. The upcoming Museum of Temple Architecture in Ayodhya, slated for phased completion by 2027, will celebrate the region’s architectural legacy. Simultaneously, ongoing efforts to rejuvenate the Ganga ghats aim to enhance environmental sustainability and visitor experience.
