IHCL to Relaunch Kamala Castle in Mussoorie

Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has signed a new hotel in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, to further bolster its SeleQtions presence. The 30-key heritage hotel Kamala Castle will be refurbished and re-launched in association with JK Urbanscapes Developers Limited.

Originally constructed in the 1940s, Kamala Castle will maintain its unique Art Deco design and retro charm.

The refurbished hotel will have contemporary comforts such as an all-day dining restaurant, bar, fitness center, heated swimming pool, and treatment rooms—all aimed at serving both leisure and business tourists.

Commenting on the announcement, Ms. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, stated, "Mussoorie is amongst India's most picturesque hill stations and has witnessed growing year-round demand. This addition is part of IHCL's strategy to increase its presence in strategic leisure markets with one-of-a-kind and character-driven properties."

JK Urbanscapes' partnership is another milestone in the mutual vision of revitalizing heritage landmarks and presenting experiential travel experiences. Mussoorie, famous for its colonial charm and Himalayan panorama, boasts of destinations like Mall Road, Kempty Falls, and Company Garden. Better connectivity has boosted its popularity as a destination all year round.
