
Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, has announced the signing of a Tree of Life resort in Sakaleshpur, Karnataka, marking its strategic expansion into an emerging boutique leisure destination in the Western Ghats.
The move reinforces IHCL’s focus on experiential hospitality, nature-led tourism, and underpenetrated micro-markets.
Commenting on the development, Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, highlighted Sakaleshpur’s growing prominence as a pristine tourism destination blending heritage, plantation landscapes, and immersive leisure experiences.

With tourism becoming a key economic driver in the region, the signing enables IHCL to address rising demand for boutique stays and experiential resorts, while strengthening its Tree of Life brand presence along the Western Ghats destination belt. The company has partnered with Mystica Retreats LLP for the project.
Nestled amidst the forested landscapes of the Western Ghats, the upcoming 40-key Tree of Life Sakaleshpur is envisioned as a tranquil wellness retreat. The resort will be set against a natural backdrop of dense greenery and a perennial stream, offering guests a deep connection with nature.

In line with the Tree of Life ethos, the property will feature an all-day dining restaurant, bar, swimming pool, treatment room, yoga space, and thoughtfully curated experiences designed for serenity, relaxation, and mindful travel.
Mystica Retreats LLP, represented by Sharanabasava Meti and Kemparaju, expressed enthusiasm about partnering with IHCL to create a quiet luxury getaway for travellers seeking escape from urban life. Known for trekking, plantation tourism, and heritage attractions such as Manjarabad Fort, Bisle Ghat Viewpoint, and Jenukal Gudda, Sakaleshpur continues to gain traction among leisure travellers.
