IHCL Signs New Gateway Hotel to Strengthen Presence in Patnitop

Indian​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has extended its presence in Jammu and Kashmir by signing a new hotel under its Gateway brand in Patnitop. The hotel, a conversion project, developed in a partnership with FIL Industries Private Limited, has been designed with the potential for further expansion as the region is witnessing a rapid increase in tourist inflow.

Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate and Development at IHCL, informed that Patnitop is becoming a popular choice of winter holiday, especially for travellers from Punjab, Delhi NCR and Jammu.

She remarked that a new Gateway resort which is going to have the largest room inventory in the destination, is in line with the company’s plan to deepen its footprint across the high-value leisure markets of the Himalayas. “We are very pleased to work with FIL Industries Private Limited on this project,” she complemented.

Gateway Patnitop with 78 keys will be an idyllic escape for lovers of nature and outdoor activities. It will have an all-day dining outlet, a specialty restaurant, a bar, two swimming pools, one of which will be heated, a gym and dedicated treatment rooms among its planned facilities. The property, designed for celebrations and events, will have a banquet hall of over 4,000 sq ft that will be ideal for social and corporate events.

Owais Altaf Syed, Director at FIL Industries Private Limited, referred to the partnership as a landmark moment for the development of hospitality in Patnitop. Enveloped in pine forests and towering mountains, Patnitop has become a favourite destination for paragliding, trekking, skiing, and visiting such sites as Natha Top and Billo Ki Powri.
