IHCL Opens Hari Ganga Niwas in Haridwar

Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), India's largest hospitality chain, has launched Hari Ganga Niwas – IHCL SeleQtions, a restored 15-key heritage retreat on the Ganges in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. This is IHCL's second SeleQtions property in the holy city following the acclaimed Pilibhit House.

Inaugurating the launch, IHCL Managing Director & CEO, Mr. Puneet Chhatwal stated, "Hari Ganga Niwas adds IHCL's presence in Uttarakhand and underscores our resolve to conserve heritage while creating experiential travel experiences. This restored 15-room heritage retreat is our sixth hotel with the Prasad Group and further IHCL's presence in India's spiritual circuit."

The property, which has stood along the Ganges since 1913, is just a stone's throw from Haridwar's lively riverside market. 

Key highlights:

  • The retreat offers serene rooms with river views, an all-day vegetarian restaurant ‘Ghar Se’ serving hyperlocal cuisine, and curated experiences like heritage walks and private Ganga Aarti
  • With this launch, IHCL now has 34 hotels in Uttarakhand, including 21 under development, strengthening its leadership in India’s spiritual tourism segment

Every room has been crafted as a peaceful retreat with breathtaking views of the river. The hotel's around-the-clock vegetarian eatery, Ghar Se, dishes out soulful 'ghar ka khaana' cooked with hyperlocal produce.

Avid travelers can also partake in signature activities like escorted heritage walks through Haridwar's historic quarters, insider culinary experiences and Ganga Aarti evenings at the hotel's exclusive ghat.
