ibis India Achieves Green Key Certification for 22 Hotels

ibis India has reached a significant sustainability milestone, with 22 of its hotels across the country receiving the globally recognised Green Key Certification, a leading eco-label for environmental responsibility and sustainable operations in the tourism sector.

The certified properties include prominent locations such as ibis Gurgaon Golf Course Road, ibis Pune Viman Nagar, ibis Bengaluru Hosur Road, ibis New Delhi Aerocity, ibis Hyderabad Hitec City, ibis Styles Goa Calangute, ibis Kochi City Centre, and ibis Chennai City Centre, among others.

Notably, ibis Kochi City Centre is the first hotel in Kerala to achieve Green Key Certification, marking a landmark achievement in ibis India’s sustainability journey.

The certification recognises strict adherence to environmental criteria, including responsible waste management, water conservation, energy efficiency, and reduction of single-use plastics. Many ibis hotels have implemented on-site water bottling plants, energy-saving fixtures, and systems that treat and reuse water from sewage treatment plants (STPs) for landscaping and flushing, significantly reducing resource consumption and carbon emissions.
