Delhi-based bespoke interiors and furnishings brand AE Living unveils FORMA, a collection of chairs where each piece is a deliberate meditation upon the nature of form, be it its stillness, motion, or quiet power. 

Building on the vision of ‘transcending the ordinary to craft extraordinary living spaces’, FORMA offers a collection of objects born not just from a need for utility but contemplation, honouring both the hand and the eye.

It began with a simple question: How does form serve the body, the space, and the spirit? In seeking answers, the team at AE Living examined not only design principles but age-old practices, the tatami mat’s grounded humility, the architectural silence of Brutalist form or the poetic utility of academic furnishings.

Materials were not chosen for novelty, but for their character, the way wood bears memory, how metal carries light and how fabric holds the imprint of the body. The approach is tactile, intentional, and deeply respectful of origin. The collection is a culmination of seasons of study, sketch, and shaping, not as a singular burst of creation, but as an unfolding. “The journey of FORMA was not one of seeking what is new, but of returning to what is essential,” says Ankit Jain, Founder of AE Living. “In an age where the pursuit of innovation often borders on the excessive, we chose a quieter path, one that treads closer to the rhythms of the hand, the curve of the spine, the poise of posture,” he adds.

The earthen repose of the Tatami Chair with a naturally grounded seating posture is ideal for meditative moments, leisurely gatherings, or low table dining. It features a low- profile silhouette that complements minimalist aesthetics and small-space living.
