Abu Dhabi Opens 1,500 New Homes for Booking With Priority

Abu Dhabi has opened booking for 1,500 homes in the West Baniyas Housing Project, prioritising eligible housing grant beneficiaries. The initiative expands citizen choice while supporting the emirate’s broader government-backed residential development programme.

The Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA) has opened the booking and purchase process for 1,500 residential units in the West Baniyas Housing Project, giving priority to eligible Emirati citizens receiving government housing grants

The initiative marks a shift in Abu Dhabi’s housing allocation process, allowing beneficiaries who had previously expressed interest in the project to select their preferred homes. The process is being implemented through the Iskan Abu Dhabi platform, enabling eligible citizens to review available units and proceed with their housing choices.

Under the new approach, beneficiaries are able to choose their preferred house within a project for which they had previously registered interest. Housing grant beneficiaries receive priority, while the allocation process also takes into account eligibility and the requirements of the government housing programme.

The West Baniyas project is part of Abu Dhabi’s wider programme to expand government-supported housing for Emirati families. ADHA is currently developing around 28,000 residential units across 15 housing projects in the emirate. The authority has been progressively moving toward a more flexible model in which beneficiaries can express interest in projects based on factors such as location, unit size and expected completion date.

The authority had initiated the review phase for West Baniyas units on August 28, ahead of reservation and allocation procedures. The latest announcement enables the next stage, allowing qualified beneficiaries to move forward with booking and purchasing their selected homes.

The project also forms part of Abu Dhabi’s broader residential development pipeline. The emirate has announced major housing programmes involving tens of thousands of homes and residential plots for Emirati citizens. These initiatives are intended to support family stability while responding to long-term housing requirements.

ADHA’s digital-first approach is designed to give beneficiaries greater visibility and choice throughout the housing journey. Through the Iskan Abu Dhabi application, citizens can access project information, register their interest and, where eligible, select units according to their preferences.

The West Baniyas launch follows other recent government housing initiatives in Abu Dhabi, including residential projects in Al Ain and new services designed to provide citizens with greater flexibility in choosing locations and housing solutions.

By opening 1,500 homes for booking while prioritising housing grant beneficiaries, Abu Dhabi is combining direct government housing support with a more choice-driven allocation system. The approach is expected to improve transparency and provide eligible families with greater certainty in planning for their future homes.
