IKEA, Sweden's furniture behemoth, has opened its first Delhi store at Pacific Mall, Tagore Garden, in a significant move towards its expansion plans.
Measuring 15,000 sq. ft., the city-format store has more than 2,000 products on display, with about 800 of them for sale immediately, and access to IKEA's entire catalogue through online orders that are shipped in from its 1,80,000 sq. ft. Customer Distribution Centre (CDC) in Farrukhnagar.
"To now be able to open our first store in the center of the lively capital is a major milestone for us. We want to encourage Delhites to look at home in a different way. This store is a demonstration of our ambitions to make IKEA more accessible, relevant and inspiring to many more Indians," said Patrik Antoni, CEO, IKEA India.

Replenishment on a daily basis is handled using electric hydraulic vehicles because there are no loading docks in the mall, meeting efficiency while being sustainable. The store serves West Delhi and neighboring locations, backed by IKEA's North India cluster supply chain.
IKEA currently operates in four Indian markets with two complete-format stores in development in Gurugram and Noida as part of cluster-based national development.
