Tvasta Manufacturing Solutions, a deep-tech startup, has built a 3D-printed villa for Godrej Properties at Godrej Eden Estate in Pune, showcasing the potential of 3D-printed homes. The ground-plus-one (G+1) villa, covering 2,200 sq. ft., was constructed entirely on-site using a concrete 3D printer. The project was completed in just four months, from June to October 2024.
Founded in 2016 by IIT Madras alumni, Chennai-based Tvasta specializes in automation and robotics-driven construction, offering faster, cost-effective, and sustainable building solutions. The company is working on multi-storey structures such as villas, office buildings, and luxury guesthouses, collaborating with government bodies, academia, and industry to advance its technology.
Tvasta places a strong emphasis on sustainability by repurposing construction and industrial waste. The villa’s 3D-printed walls are designed to improve insulation, reducing energy consumption and utility costs.
“Tvasta remains committed to advancing this technology further, with plans to scale operations and develop more collaborative partnerships in the construction space,” said Parivarthan Reddy, Co-Founder of Tvasta Manufacturing Solutions.
Beyond India, Tvasta has expanded into international markets, supplying construction 3D printers to the US and the Middle East. The company has also been involved in manufacturing bus shelters for municipalities, boundary walls for Chepauk Stadium, and marine structures.
Recently, Tvasta received approval under the Building Materials and Technology Promotion Council’s performance appraisal certification scheme, a regulatory nod for emerging construction technology. The company continues to push the boundaries of 3D-printed construction, aiming for wider adoption in the real estate and infrastructure sectors.
