Senior Advocate Arun Kathpalia & his wife Buys Bungalow in Delhi for Rs. 69 Crore

According to documents obtained by CRE Matrix, senior counsel Arun Kathpalia and his spouse Shalini Kathpalia paid Rs. 69 crore for a property in Delhi's posh Golf Links neighborhood.

The 763 square yard property (6,867 square foot plot space with 6,254 square foot built-up area) brings Kathpalia to the increasing list of prominent lawyers who call the Lutyens' Bungalow Zone home. Former Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi and former Additional Solicitor General Vikas Singh are two other well-known attorneys who own properties in the area.

Senior counsel and high-net-worth individuals continue to choose Golf Links because of its close proximity to the Supreme Court and other legal institutions.

“It’s a value deal,” said Rohit Chopra of Southdelhiprime.com.

“The Gupta family, who owned the house, had been seeking a discerning buyer for 2–3 years. Golf Links and nearby Jor Bagh have increasingly become hubs for top lawyers,” he added.

According to property documents obtained by CRE Matrix, in February, Sanjay Kukreja, the chief investment officer of Chryscapital Management Company, a private equity firm, and his wife Shaveta Sharma, the CEO and managing director of Central Square Foundation, paid Rs. 155 crore to seller Pradeep Varma, who then paid Rs. 78.50 crore for a bungalow in the Golf Links neighborhood.
