Eden Realty Group has revealed its ambitious plan to invest 5, 000 crore in a mix of residential, commercial, and hospitality projects in the two districts on both sides of the Hooghly before 2030, signaling a big step in the company's regional expansion.
The funding will cover a high-end riverside housing development in Shalimar, Howrah, and five luxury hotels with nearly 600 rooms in the areas of Kolkata, Howrah, and South 24 Parganas.

Managing Director, Arya Sumant, explained that the decision means that the company is officially entering the hotel business with the additions to their portfolio of property from the leases by Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata.
The firm is in talks with top Indian and international hotel operators, and no partner has been decided yet.

The initial lodging facility will be an 80-key hotel on 2.3 acres requiring an outlay of around 150 crore, while a bigger 300-key hotel is envisioned at Garden Reach on a 20-acre lease with an estimated cost of 450 crore. Other locations for hotels include Raichak, Budge Budge, and a mixed hotel-cum-commercial project on Strand Road.
The Shalimar housing venture is set to offer more than 1, 000 flats in five high-rise buildings, with the total investment estimated to be around 2, 000 crore further emphasizing the group's commitment to large-scale, waterfront-led urban development.
