Aaiji Group has announced an investment of Rs. 100 crore to develop affordable residential and commercial projects along the Lothal-Dholera corridor over the next two years.
The move comes amid rising economic activity in the region, driven by tourism, heritage, and industrial development as well as enhanced transport and connectivity.
One of the key anchors of the corridor’s growth is the National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal, which is progressing as planned. Designed to meet international museum standards, its first phase is expected to open in 2025, with full completion slated for 2028.
Key Highlights
The project is expected to create nearly 2,000 jobs locally and boost tourism significantly. Meanwhile, Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) is set to emerge as a major industrial hub, with projections of nearly 22,000 jobs from global investments and manufacturing initiatives. The corridor’s development will be further supported by a Maritime University, which will offer specialized degrees, international exchange programs, and promote academic research in maritime studies. This initiative is expected to foster skill development and support local cottage industries.
“The Lothal Dholera belt is where history meets the future,” said Lalit Parihar, MD, Aaiji Group. “Dholera SIR is on track to become India’s next global industrial investment destination, while Lothal is evolving into a world class heritage and tourism hub. Together these centres will create significant employment and an unprecedented demand for quality real estate. Our Rs 100 crore investment reflects our confidence in the corridor’s potential and our commitment to deliver modern, high quality developments for residents, businesses and investors.”
