The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has successfully sold over 1,200 Low-Income Group (LIG) flats and 440 flats under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category as part of its Sasta Ghar and Madhyam Vargiya Housing schemes. In Ramgarh, 153 out of 183 LIG flats were sold, with significant bookings in Rohini (708 LIG flats) and Narela (around 250 LIG flats).
In the EWS category, approximately 300 homes were sold in Narela, and all 139 units in Loknayakpuram were booked. The housing developments launched on September 10 received an enthusiastic response, especially the High-Income Group (HIG) units in Jasola, which sold out on the first day.
The latest sales occurred in Dwarka, where one penthouse, three super High-Income Group (HIG) units, 18 HIG units, and several Middle-Income Group (MIG) units were sold via e-auction. A record 2,000 potential buyers submitted earnest money deposits (EMDs) for 169 units, leading to sales that significantly exceeded the reserve price after multiple bidding rounds.
The housing initiatives were launched under the oversight of Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, who has actively monitored their implementation.
The DDA attributes its success to a commitment to offering affordable yet high-quality housing, supported by strategic planning and development efforts.
Initiatives to enhance the living environment, including the creation of green spaces around apartment complexes, are currently in progress.
The DDA is collaborating with local authorities to maintain cleanliness in these neighborhoods, thereby enhancing the quality of life for new residents. Additionally, final improvements are being made to the apartment blocks to offer buyers greater value.
The DDA offers buyers streamlined information, including property documents organized in a comprehensive folder, to facilitate the purchasing process. All apartments are freehold and ready for occupancy, with sample flats available for viewing to assist buyers in making informed decisions.
The Dwarka Housing Scheme, conducted via e-auction, has concluded, while the Sasta Ghar and Madhyam Vargiya Housing Schemes, which operate on a first-come, first-served basis, are still open.
