Sarovar Hotels has announced an ambitious expansion strategy to scale its portfolio to 400 hotels in India over the next five years, while generating over 10,000 jobs.
According to CEO Jatin Khanna, the company currently operates around 250 hotels (including those under development), comprising nearly 22,000 keys.
Over the next 36 months, Sarovar aims to surpass 210 operational hotels, supported by a strong pipeline of 100–120 new properties. In 2026 alone, the company is targeting approximately 20 hotel openings, which is expected to increase its operational portfolio to around 170 hotels.

Financially, the company is projecting double-digit revenue growth, with estimated revenues reaching ₹2,300 crore in 2026, up from ₹1,991 crore in the previous year. Despite global uncertainties, Sarovar has reported a strong start, with same-store growth of 5% and overall portfolio growth of 11.4% in the first quarter.
A central pillar of Sarovar’s strategy is its asset-light model, with nearly 90% of its portfolio under management contracts and the rest under franchise agreements. The company owns only a limited number of assets and plans to continue scaling through partnerships rather than capital-heavy investments.
The expansion will focus on Tier II and Tier III cities, as well as pilgrimage destinations and emerging leisure markets, where demand for branded hospitality is rising rapidly. Sarovar currently employs over 10,000 people and expects to create an equivalent number of jobs as it expands.
