Radisson, Vihang Plan Two MMR Hotels with 200 Cr

Radisson Hotel Group has partnered with Vihang Group to develop two new hotel projects in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), with a combined investment of around ₹180–200 crore. The agreement marks a strategic move to expand hospitality infrastructure in emerging micro-markets within the Mumbai region, particularly in Thane and Mira Bhayandar.

The two planned properties Radisson Hotel Mumbai Thane and Radisson Hotel Mumbai Mira Bhayandar will together add over 200 rooms to the region’s hospitality inventory. The Thane hotel will operate 114 rooms while the Mira Bhayandar property will provide 103 rooms to guests. Each project will require an investment between ₹90 and ₹100 crore which will be financed through a combination of debt and equity.

The two projects are components of extensive mixed-use developments which show the increasing trend of combining hotel operations with shopping and office and business areas. The Mira Bhayandar hotel will be developed within a township that includes a business park and retail components, while the Thane project will be positioned as a high-street development with premium commercial offerings.

The projects will take three to four years for completion because there is increasing need for high-quality lodging in locations that experience fast economic growth and infrastructure upgrades. Radisson Hotel Group has emphasised its focus on identifying high-potential urban corridors where connectivity improvements and business growth are driving new demand centres.

Overall, the partnership demonstrates that peripheral urban areas of metropolitan cities, especially Mumbai, have gained significance for development projects which combine hospitality and residential spaces to meet current business and travel requirements while preserving asset value over time.
