Passport Hotel Launches in Assagaon, North Goa

Passport Hotel

Passport Hotel has opened a hotel in Assagaon and is bringing with it a new form of hospitality based on the concept of travel, social, and cocktail experiences.

Established by hospitality industry entrepreneur Ashesh L. Sajnani, the 27-key hotel identifies itself as the first cocktail-themed traveller hotel in India, providing an alternative to the traditional resort rooms in North Goa. The hotel focuses on interaction and discovery and thus, the drinks and community are at the core of the guest experience.

Key Highlights

  • The Passport Hotel launches as India’s first cocktail-forward boutique stay
  • Founded by Ashesh L. Sajnani, blending hospitality with social experiences
  • Unique Passport Program encourages guests to explore Goa’s cocktail scene

Sajnani, known for bringing speakeasy-style bars such as Please Don’t Tell (PDT) to Mumbai, extends that philosophy to Goa by creating a space where travellers and locals can naturally connect.

The hotel is located on the Badem Church Road with the Assagaon having a rich cultural neighbourhood, which will motivate the guests to venture outside the premises of the hotel and visit the local cafes, bars and creative areas.

It is based on a core of the Mini Bar a lobby bar which converts the traditional reception into a social check-in. To supplement it is the rooftop pool and bar, called Layover, which is meant to be a relaxing evening out, and the small events place, called Jet Lag, which will host specific tastings and workshops.

One of the most impressive is the Passport Program, which is similar to a physical passport issued to the guests to explore the cocktail industry in Goa, by getting stamps in the partner bars. Some of the rooms are also equipped with DIY cocktail kits that amplify the immersion theme.

Cultivated events, intimate design and emphasis on community makes the hotel a manifestation of a more experiential, lifestyle-driven hospitality trend in India.
