Indian Hotels Company Limited Opens New Hotel in Digha

The Indian Hotels Company Limited has announced intention to build a new greenfield SeleQtions in Digha, which will be a strategic move towards enhancing the tourism infrastructures of eastern India.

The proposed 56 key property will provide high quality hospitality experiences and will create jobs and increase the levels of service in the area. The hotel will be situated on the beautiful Bay of Bengal coastline and will serve leisure and business travellers.

This will have all-day dining, modern day bar, wellness and spa, and a flexible events space to host meetings, conferences, and social get-togethers. These products are meant to make the property a major destination to the corporate and leisure segments.

In the development, Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL pointed out how Digha is becoming a popular tourist destination in a coastal and spiritual setting, which supports the move by IHCL to invest in new destinations. She also mentioned that the company would remain in the project with the Ambuja Neotia Group.

Giriraj Damani, WTD CEO and CFO – Ambuja Neotia Hospitality, added that the partnership will help in improving infrastructure in the region in terms of hospitality.

The hotel will belong to the SeleQtions brand by IHCL, which focuses on the combination of the local culture and modern opulence. This will increase the number of hotels that IHCL is involved in, West Bengal to 17 with nine under development, a sign that the company is committed to high growth tourist destinations.
