From Idea to Impact
Uprear Build was established with the vision of manufacturing complete homes inside a factory environment using a semi-automatic machine line. The company produces a wide range of structures, including farmhouses, single-bedroom and two-bedroom homes, hotel resorts, restaurants, and site offices. Its facility in Surat, Gujarat, produces everything from raw plates to finished structures under one roof. This approach defines the company as a premium prefabricated modular construction company.
This was inspired from the Founder and CEO, Shrikant Shah’s professional experience in the United States. He worked with a large company that had already adopted factory-built modular construction at scale. At that time, very few companies in India followed this model. This gap motivated him to take the plunge and establish Uprear Build in India.
Today, the company’s core mission centers on creating next-generation structures that reflect how buildings should be made in 2025. Its values place customer experience at the heart of every decision. Also, the company does not compete in the low-end prefab segment or rely on price-driven comparisons. It competes on product quality, precision and end-toend customer satisfaction.

In just three years, it has achieved significant milestones in both revenue and the number of structures deployed. Over time, the company has reached a scale that many others have not. In total, the intent remains to demonstrate that advanced construction technologies are already available in India.
Versatility at Scale
Uprear Build offers three primary design series as part of its product portfolio. The Sleek Series includes curved-structure designs ranging from 300 to 600 square feet. The Boxable Series features straight-line structures ranging from 600 to 1,900 square feet. The X Series draws inspiration from space capsule design and includes three SKUs ranging between 300 and 400 square feet. Across these three series, the company offers a total of 13 SKUs.
Furthermore, customers can configure each SKU to suit different functional needs. This flexibility allows the same structural platform to serve multiple use cases. Notably, the company applies its 13 SKUs across five core applications. These include hotel suites, residential homes with one, two, or three-bedroom hall kitchen layouts, offices, restaurants, and Anganwadi centers. This approach allows clients to choose both the design language and the application that best fits their requirements.
The Boxable Breakthrough
The company’s cutting-edge innovation comes through its patent-pending Boxable Technology. This system allows entire structures to fold into flat-packed, shippable dimensions. These compact units are transported by truck and are unfolded on site within hours to create a full volumetric footprint. Moreover, the company has already deployed this technology at scale across India. It has installed more
than 150 structures using flat-pack delivery, similar in concept to IKEA furniture or Lego-style assembly. Notably, teams assemble the structures quickly on site without compromising build quality or speed. These structures are permanent and fully compliant with building codes and are designed for rigid outdoor environments rather than temporary use. “We are the only company in India to deliver modular structures at this scale using this technology, which gives us a strong first-mover advantage,” states Shrikant Shah, Founder and CEO at Uprear Build.
Folding the Future
Uprear Build plans to expand beyond infrastructure projects into rapid deployment of hotel rooms and suites across scenic locations, supporting tourism growth. It also aims to deploy up to a thousand Airbnb-style units and partner with platforms like OYO, ensuring speed, quality, and enhanced traveler experiences. Particularly, the company wishes to manufacture products entirely in India from scratch. In total, it aims to position India prominently on the global manufacturing map and showcase the country’s capabilities in advanced modular construction.

Uprear Build, founded by Shrikant Shah, pitched its innovative modular construction technology on Shark Tank India, showcasing premium, facto-ry-built homes and pods that can be transported flat-packed and assembled on-site within hours. The company has delivered projects for resorts, restaurants, Anganwadi centers, and healthcare fa-cilities, achieving strong revenue growth in recent years. Shrikant sought ₹2 crore for 2.5% equity, high-lighting the efficiency, scalability, and durability of his steel-alloy structures. The pitch impressed the Sharks, particularly Kunal Bahl, who offered a com-bined equity-and-debt deal. Shrikant accepted the offer, securing strategic investment to scale opera-tions and modernize construction in India.
