Virat Kohli & Anushka Sharma Buy Rs. 38 Cr Alibaug Land

Celebrity couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma has purchased a land parcel of over five acres in Alibaug, a popular second-home destination near Mumbai, for Rs. 37.86 crore, according to property registration documents accessed by CRE Matrix.

This marks their second land acquisition in Alibaug within four years, underlining their continued investment interest in the coastal micro-market.

The latest transaction, registered on January 13, 2026, involved two adjoining land parcels measuring 1.474 hectares (14,740 sq m) and 0.627 hectares (6,270 sq m), totalling 21,010 sq m.

The land is located in Zirad village near Awas Beach, within Raigad district. The couple paid a stamp duty of Rs. 2.27 crore along with a registration fee of Rs. 30,000.

The seller in the deal is Sonali Amit Rajput, with Samira Land Assets Private Limited listed as the confirming party. Queries sent to the buyers, seller, and confirming party remained unanswered at the time of reporting.

Four years earlier, the couple had acquired an eight-acre plot in Alibaug for around Rs. 19 crore, on which they built a luxury villa featuring a temperature-controlled pool, bespoke kitchen, jacuzzi, landscaped garden, staff quarters, and covered parking.

Alibaug’s real estate market has seen rising interest, with apartment prices ranging between Rs. 15,000-17,000 per sq ft, while land values stand at Rs. 3–5 crore per acre for agricultural land and Rs. 8-10 crore per acre for non-agricultural plots.

The region, located three to four hours by road from Mumbai and 45 minutes via Ro-Ro ferry from Gateway of India to Mandwa, has attracted several high-profile buyers.

Amitabh Bachchan, Kartik Aaryan, Suhana Khan, and cricketers including Rohit Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar, Ravi Shastri, and Ajit Agarkar have invested here. Developers such as Oberoi Realty, Lodha Developers, and Hiranandani also hold land banks in Alibaug, reinforcing its status as a premium second-home destination.
