Ventive Hospitality Ltd, the Panchshil Group and Blackstone-backed listed hotel development platform, has entered into a strategic alliance with Marriott International to develop six new hotels in India over the period of the next five years. The growth will introduce more than 1,600 rooms to Marriott's expanding India portfolio, enhancing Ventive's presence in hospitality high-growth markets.
The new hotels will be situated in Varanasi, Mundra, Pune, and Navi Mumbai, of which two of the six hotels, a 161 room hotel in Varanasi and a 200-room hotel in Gujarat — are owned by Ventive directly.
The other four, of which one is a JW Marriott and three Moxy hotels in Pune and Navi Mumbai, will be developed by promoter group Panchshil on leasehold land. Ventive can opt to acquire these subsequently under a pre-agreed deal.
