Pune revealed as India most harmonious housing market

Pune revealed as India most harmonious housing market

The latest analysis by eXp India has revealed that Pune is home to the highest availability of Vaastu-compliant properties across the nation, with 56% of all homes currently listed for sale designed to provide a more harmonious living environment.

eXp India analysed current market listings data, comparing the number of Vaastu-compliant homes listed for sale across major Indian cities as a proportion of total properties for sale.

A Vaastu-compliant home is one that has been designed according to the principles of Vaastu Shastra, an ancient Indian science of architecture that seeks to harmonise living spaces with natural elements and energy flows. By aligning the design and layout of a property with these principles, homes are believed to promote positivity, peace and prosperity.

The research shows that in Pune, of the 33,645 homes currently listed for sale, 18,854 are described as Vaastu-compliant, equating to 56% of the market. This makes Pune the most harmonious housing market for homebuyers when it comes to Vaastu-compliant property availability.

Following Pune, Mumbai ranks a close second, where 54.7% of homes for sale are marketed as Vaastu-compliant, with Navi Mumbai also performing strongly at 54.5%.

Delhi is home to 52.6% of listings that meet Vaastu principles, while Jaipur rounds out the top five at 47.4%.

Other markets where availability remains high include Indore at 47%, Bengaluru at 43.3%, Hyderabad at 43.1% and Chennai at 41.7%.

However, availability is far more limited in cities such as Lucknow, where 31.3% of listed homes are Vaastu-compliant, and Kanpur, where the proportion falls to just 16.9%.

Sam Chopra, President of eXp India, commented:“Vaastu Shastra has been part of India’s cultural fabric for centuries, but its role in the modern property market has never been more important. Today’s buyers are actively seeking homes that align with these principles, combining traditional values with contemporary living. Our analysis shows just how widespread this demand has become, particularly in markets such as Pune and Mumbai, and we expect Vaastu-compliant homes to continue to command strong interest from both domestic and international buyers.”
