Wyndham Expands India Footprint with Cygnett Partnership

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is setting up a strategic partnership with Indian hotel group Cygnett Hotels & Resorts to substantially boost its presence in South Asia. The union will introduce Wyndham's La Quinta and Registry Collection Hotels brands into India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Nepal, adding more than 60 hotels within the next decade.

As part of the deal, Wyndham and Cygnett have signed an exclusive 10-year development agreement to introduce La Quinta by Wyndham in the country, focusing on business and leisure travelers in the upper-midscale segment. The initial hotels will open towards the end of 2026. 

Also, the Registry Collection Hotels brand will enter India via a non-exclusive deal to open  luxury properties co-branded with Cygnett's new five-star brand, Anamore.

The acquisition takes advantage of India's rapidly expanding travel and tourism industry triggered by rising middle-class disposable income, enhanced infrastructure, and domestic and international travel demand.
