Synopsis: MAYFAIR Elixir signs a premium hospitality project in Santiniketan, West Bengal, with an opening planned for FY2028-29. The development strengthens the group's presence in Eastern India and expands its portfolio in culturally significant tourism destinations.
MAYFAIR Elixir, the growth and expansion arm of MAYFAIR Hotels & Resorts, has signed a new premium hospitality project in Santiniketan, West Bengal, reinforcing its expansion strategy in Eastern India. Scheduled to open in FY2028-29, the upcoming property will become the group's fifth hotel in the state and is aimed at strengthening its presence in one of India's most prominent cultural and heritage destinations.
Located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Santiniketan, the hotel will be developed as a premium retreat that blends contemporary hospitality with the region's rich cultural and literary legacy associated with Rabindranath Tagore. The project is expected to cater to leisure travellers, cultural enthusiasts, and guests seeking venues for intimate celebrations, while offering personalised experiences aligned with the MAYFAIR brand.

The property is owned by WESTROAD Group, which selected MAYFAIR Elixir to manage and develop the hospitality project. According to the partners, the collaboration is intended to preserve Santiniketan's unique cultural identity while introducing high-quality hospitality infrastructure that enhances the visitor experience. The signing coincided with the Jagannath Rath Yatra, highlighting the company's continued focus on expanding into destinations with strong tourism potential and historical significance.
Company executives noted that Santiniketan remains underserved in the premium hospitality segment despite its global cultural recognition. The new hotel is expected to address the growing demand for upscale accommodation while supporting tourism in the region. MAYFAIR Elixir said the project aligns with its long-term strategy of developing hospitality offerings in destinations known for their heritage, art, literature, and natural appeal.
The signing also reflects MAYFAIR Elixir's broader expansion plans across India. The company stated that it is actively exploring new destinations, hospitality concepts, and strategic partnerships as part of its growth roadmap. By focusing on culturally significant locations, the hospitality group aims to create destination-led experiences that combine luxury, regional authenticity, and sustainable tourism development.
