Marriott International has signed an agreement to open the first JW Marriott hotel in Nepal, marking a significant milestone for the country’s luxury hospitality sector. The upcoming JW Marriott Hotel Kathmandu Valley is expected to introduce the globally recognised luxury brand to Nepal, enhancing the destination’s appeal among international and domestic travellers.

The hotel management agreement is signed between Capital Hotel and Hospitality Limited, a group company of MS Group, and Marriott International. The partnership represents another step in the companies’ continued collaboration and reflects growing confidence in Nepal’s tourism and hospitality potential.

Scheduled to open in early 2031, JW Marriott Hotel Kathmandu Valley is planned to feature 221 luxury rooms along with a range of premium facilities. The property will be located approximately 15 minutes from Tribhuvan International Airport, providing convenient access to Kathmandu’s cultural landmarks, heritage sites and major attractions.

The upcoming hotel is expected to offer multiple dining options, a luxury spa, fitness centre, swimming pool and JW Garden, along with extensive event and meeting spaces. The development aims to combine international hospitality standards with Nepal’s unique cultural identity, creating a refined experience for leisure and business travellers.

The launch of JW Marriott in Kathmandu highlights Marriott International’s continued expansion across South Asia.
