Lodha Unveils Green Data Centre Plan in MMR

As part of a big infrastructure drive, Lodha Developers has proposed to set up a Rs.30,000 crore Green Integrated Data Centre Park in Palava City, Dombivli, under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra.

Spanning 370 acres in Ambernath, Thane district, the facility is likely to create more than 6,000 jobs and substantially increase the state's digital and green infrastructure.

The project is in line with Maharashtra's Green Integrated Data Centre Parks policy, launched last year, to encourage sustainable, energy-efficient buildings amid increasing demand for cloud computing, AI, and digital services.

The state had previously announced Integrated Data Centres as a 'thrust area' for industrial development in 2019

Key Highlights:

  • Lodha Developers to invest Rs.30,000 crore in a 370-acre Green Integrated Data Centre Park in Palava City, Dombivli, under an MoU with the Maharashtra government
  • The park will have a planned capacity of 2 gigawatts, run on clean and alternative energy sources, and host leading global and Indian tech companies
  • Over 6,000 jobs expected to be created, aligning with Maharashtra’s Green Data Centre policy and broader goal to become a digital infrastructure hub

The planned park will be of 2-gigawatt capacity and is aimed to accommodate top global and local technology players and will be fuelled by alternative and clean energy sources.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with the Government of Maharashtra in this pioneering initiative. This policy will not just generate employment and make the economy robust but also run on clean and green energy sources for generations to come." said Abhishek Lodha, MD & CEO, Lodha Developers Ltd.

Lodha highlighted the sustainability vision of the company, saying, "We have taken giant leaps towards sustainability and are targeting net zero in all operations over the next few years."
